------------------------------------------------------
The Email Migration at MIT project has moved into the delivery
phase. Several Departments, Labs and Centers have reached out to the
team requesting migration assistance. The Email Migration at MIT
website, has been updated to include the material used for the Apple
Mail, Outlook Express and Outlook 2003 quick start classes and is
available for download:

Did you know that webcasts that include step-by-step migration
instructions are available for Outlook Express and Outlook
2003? (Apple Mail is coming soon)

For further information on services and support, please see the Email
Migration at MIT website:

Should you have any questions or need assistance, please email the
team directly:  <email-migration at mit.edu>.

4. What's New:
---------------------------
Apple began shipping Intel-based Macintosh computers in early
January; some applications that IS&T supports and distributes
currently do not work on these Intel Macs:

* MatLAB
* SAPgui 6.30, 6.40
* Virex 7.7
* VPN client 4.8
* Virtual PC (part of Office 2004 Professional for Macintosh)

IS&T is monitoring the situation and will provide further updates as
information becomes available. For more information on the new
Intel-based Mac's, visit the Apple Site:  <http://www.apple.com/>

5. Volume & Site License Software Update
--------------------------------------------------------------
The bulk of the Matlab distribution is behind us. We are moving
forward with plans to add the Matlab Distributed Computing Toolbox
(DCT) to the suite of toolboxes we offer, so if you are interested in
using the DCT and Matlab Distributed Computing Engine, please send
email to:  <vsls-matlab at mit.edu>.

Check the Volume Site License site:
<http://web.mit.edu/ist/products/vsls/> for news and updates.

6. Windows Automatic Update Service (WAUS)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
We recommend users configure their Windows machines to use MIT's
Windows Automatic Update Service (WAUS) for critical patches and
service pack deployment.

WSUS is here. MIT WAUS now deploys updates for Microsoft Office
products. Check the Approved Updates page for details regarding
deployed packages. WSUS also adds support for 64-bit Microsoft
Windows operating systems. For more information about and
instructions on how to configure your machines to use WAUS, see the
WAUS documentation:

         <http://web.mit.edu/ist/topics/windows/updates/>
