Are there any problems with SapGui 6.4 running on the new Intel Macs,
like a new iMac G5, fr'instance. Also, Does MicroSoft Office 2004 run
OK, at least as fast as on a PowerPC G5?

After doing lots of testing and monitoring web reports, I'd say it's
okay to upgrade to Mac OS X 10.4.6 for most users.

As usual, users should take the proper precautions before installing
upgrading:

- make a backup

- if possible, install the update on a test machine first before
deploying to production machines

In addition, read the information from Apple regarding this update at
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303411

If you or people you support are using iSync, make sure to read
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303419 about what you
need to do before upgrading to Mac OS X 10.4.6.

Also remember that PowerPC-based Macs restart twice after installing
this update.

And finally, if your users are using Photoshop CS2 and save files to
a non-Apple AFP (Apple Filing Protocol) server, you should be aware
that upgrading to Mac OS X 10.4.6 will cause Photoshop to crash when
saving files to the server. If you're using Mac OS X Server to
provide file sharing, you are all set; if you're using something else
(such as ExtremeZ-IP by GroupLogic) or another non-Apple AFP file
server, you should contact the vendor of the file server that you're
using before upgrading. This should affect a very small number of
users at MIT, if any.
