The latest update for Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger", Mac OS X 10.4.3, is
expected to be released by Apple this week and possibly as soon as
this evening. We expect that 10.4.3 will be the most extensive set of
bug fixes and enhancements for Tiger since it shipped nearly 6 months
ago.

However, when ever 10.4.3 becomes available, we believe you should
wait before updating your machine and those of your users.

We've seen some instances of updates causing problems; for example,
the infamous tax day release of 10.3.9 caused many users to
experience problems with running Java applications and using Mail to
access e-mail from IMAP servers.

Most users should wait to update to 10.4.3 until IS&T has completed
its testing, to ensure that supported applications work as expected.
We'll also be monitoring Macintosh websites for user's experience
with the upgrade. It may take up to a week to complete testing.

When testing is complete, we'll provide information about any issues
and possible work-arounds.
