Apple also announced new Power Macs today as well. Prices are for
department orders from https://b2bstore.apple.com/mit/.
The basics:
* dual-core processors now standard
* PCI Express expansion slots now standard
* memory expandable to 16 GB
* storage expandable to 1000 GB (1 terabyte)
* high performance video cards
* Mighty Mouse (http://www.apple.com/mightymouse/) now standard
A dual-core processor is essentially two processors on one chip.
That's why Apple is calls the high-end machine the Power Mac Quad,
because it has two dual-core G5 processors, it has four processing

The Power Mac G5 Dual, with a price of $1,656 includes:
- dual-core 2.0GHz PowerPC G5 processor;
- 512MB of 533 MHz DDR2 SDRAM expandable up to 16GB;
- 160GB Serial ATA hard drive running at 7200 rpm;
- NVIDIA GeForce 6600 LE with 128MB of GDDR SDRAM
- three open PCI Express expansion slots: two 4-lane slots and
one 8-lane slot;
- dual Gigabit Ethernet ports;
- 16x SuperDrive™ with double-layer support (DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-
RW); and
- ships with Mighty Mouse and Apple Keyboard.
