Under Windows (largely due to IE/Windows Explorer integration/union), file://
URLs can be used to open valid paths from the address bar as well as HREF
links. Similarly, I can type a file:// URL in the Safari address bar, and get
Finder to open up the desired path. However, HREFs do not work. (This is Safari
1.3 (v312) under Mac OS X 10.3.9).

I anticipate this is a security measure, but I cannot find a preference or plist
setting somewhere to change it. Any ideas?
