Good Afternoon,

IS&T would like to reiterate its recommendation that clients use e-mail programs that are bundled with the operating system (such as Apple Mail and Outlook). This announcement is directed to the current Eudora user community.

Eudora 6.2.3.x features include increased IMAP stability, user interface enhancements, OpenSSL incorporation, and many bug fixes. Additionally, the installer prompts POP users to migrate to the IMAP protocol. To learn more about IMAP, please visit http://web.mit.edu/ist/topics/email/gettingstarted.html.

Known issues:
-------------
-No dual monitor support (Windows).
-Eudora sometimes thinks there's an Internet connection when in fact there isn't (Windows).
-Toolbar icons still display incorrectly on a few systems (Windows).
-Changing Eudora options may result in a dialog box about your filters; a stock answer exists for this issue: http://itinfo.mit.edu/answer.php?id=7835 (Windows)

Who should upgrade:
-------------------
IS&T recommends that current Eudora users consider transitioning to the email client that is bundled with their operating system. Only current Eudora users planning to continue using Eudora should upgrade to 6.2.3.x. Those upgrading to 6.2.3.x should do so at their earliest convenience to obtain bug fixes and security enhancements.

All other users are encouraged to use email clients such as Apple Mail for Macintosh and Outlook for Windows machines.
