We have been working hard in preparation for school getting back in

such as SecureCRT, SecureFX and others being released this fall.

3. Volume Site License Software Update
---------------------------------------------------------
On June 22, IS&T offered licenses to our software liaisons for Adobe
Acrobat 7 Professional through the maintenance program from Acrobat
licenses purchased in June 2003. A web site was created, similar to
that used for the Microsoft Campus Agreement that enables users to
register for Acrobat Pro 7 licenses, return Acrobat Pro 6 licenses
and download installation files for Windows and/or Mac OS X. On July
27, licensing was offered to others in the MIT community who
participate in the maintenance program.

We are experimenting with partnering with GovConnection to process
Mathematica orders and collect licensing fees to improve our
processing of Mathematica orders. To place an order through
GovConnection, students should use the MIT Personal Catalog while
Faculty and Staff should use the Departmental Catalog at
GovConnection. Mathematica is now listed with the Microsoft Select
and other software licensing deals special for MIT in the upper right
corner of the MIT Catalog. Once your order is processed through
GovConnection, VSLS will distribute the latest Mathematica media and
instructions to you. More information is available by following the
Mathematica link at <http://web.mit.edu/ist/products/vsls/#spec>.

4. Windows Automatic Update Service (WAUS)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
We recommend users configure their Windows machines to use MIT's
Windows Automatic Update Service (WAUS) for critical patches and
service pack deployment. For more information about and instructions
on how to configure your machines to use WAUS, see the WAUS documentation at:
