[Macpartners] Looking for an external dvd drive to play mini dvds

Sony makes a ton of nice DVD burners with FireWire and/or USB2 that would work
fine. But they are relatively expensive. You could alternately get a $50
FireWire/USB2 enclosure from Micro Center or somewhere similar, and throw in a
$15 DVD-ROM in it instead. A list of Apple DVD Player compatible DVD drives
should be available on-line at www.macfixit.com or something similar. While
they may be unable to boot the machine, they should work as a player. More
expensive and package deal external drives ought to be available on
GovConnection, smalldog.com, otherworldcomputing.com, etc.

BTW, since she's talking miniDVDs, some slot-feed DVD players cannot handle them
and she wants a tray player.
