I agree with Helen--10.3.6 seems fine to upgrade to. I've upgraded a
few machines (including my own) and haven't run into any problems.
That's not to suggest that people haven't had any problems--just go to
Macintouch to see the reader reports.
I suspect that users with machines that already had issues ran into
problems when they did the upgrade. You also don't hear from the tens
of thousands of people who upgraded with no problems.
As usual, you have take the normal precautions:
- have a current backup of any production machine
- avoid software that modifies the system (haxies, user interface
modifications, etc.)
- use Disk Utility and run repair permissions after doing the install
