Position Announcement: Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship in Supply Chain Logistics

Applications are invited for a one-year Post-Doctoral Fellowship starting September 1, 2021 in Wilfrid Laurier University’s Lazaridis School of Business & Economics (www.wlu.ca/sbe<http://www.wlu.ca/sbe>).  There is an option to extend the position to 18 months.  We welcome applicants who have the technical skills, confidence, motivation, and intellectual independence to take a leadership role in conducting and disseminating rigorous research.

That role of research leadership will require the appointed post-Doctoral Fellow (PDF) to have substantial responsibility for the full spectrum of the research process –from conceptualizing research projects through to writing high-quality research papers– in the following areas

-        research to yield insights for effective performance by providers of freight transportation and logistics services such as trucking, intermodal, maritime port, and supply chain facilities (e.g., distribution and fulfillment centres)

-        research that views effective performance of those services not only with respect to traditional metrics (efficiency, etc.) but also metrics that are becoming more prominent (e.g., environmental sustainability)



The four (4) minimum requirements for this PDF position are:

(1)  an earned doctorate within the past 3 years in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related field such as Operations Research, Analytics, Transportation, Logistics, etc.

(2)  in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of research on freight transportation/logistics services in one or more of the following domains: trucking, rail, intermodal, maritime ports, supply chain facilities

(3)  expertise in using methods (analytics, modeling, coding/programming, etc.) required to conduct research that meets the publication standards of top-tier peer-reviewed journals in the fields mentioned above

(4)  demonstrated ability to publish in those top-tier journals
