Two tenure-track Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor positions in Logistics & Supply Chain Management will be available in the Department of Operational Sciences at the Air Force Institute of Technology. Please see the following qualification statement:
QUALIFICATIONS: A doctorate in business administration, economics, industrial engineering or a related field with a specialization or major in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Operations Management is required. Demonstrated professional knowledge of foundational and advanced topics associated with logistics and operations management. These areas include, but are not limited to: sourcing, inventory theory and modeling, production management, operations management, and distribution logistics. Expertise in at least one of the following areas: sourcing, inventory theory and modeling, production management, operations management, and distribution logistics. Possess the ability to communicate clearly and expertly (in English) in both oral and written forms concerning academic, administrative, and technical subject matters. Applicants must be citizens of, or owe allegiance, to the United States. If selected, applicants must produce proof of citizenship at time of appointment.
At the Assistant Professor rank: Applicants must possess a doctoral degree in business administration, economics, industrial engineering or a related field with a specialization or major in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Operations Management. Demonstrated knowledge of foundational and advanced topics in these fields of study is required. Applicants should have a distinguished academic record and the background, commitment and desire to teach logistics and operations management area graduate classes. Ability to communicate clearly and expertly (in English) in both oral and written forms concerning academic, administrative, and technical subject matters is required. At the Associate Professor rank: In addition, an initial appointment to the academic rank of Associate Professor must be based on convincing evidence that the individual has demonstrated excellence as a teacher, as a scholar, and as one who provides effective service. The candidate must have five years of significant professional experience after having earned the terminal degree. These will normally include no fewer than three years of full-time-university-level teaching at the Assistant Professor rank or higher. Alternatively, for those with fewer than three years of teaching experience, the requirement is six years of significant professional experience with research credentials normally expected of a full Professor.
At the Full Professor rank: In addition, an initial appointment to the academic rank of Professor must be based on convincing evidence that the faculty member has a sustained record of excellence in teaching, has produced a significant body of scholarship that is recognized nationally or internationally, and has demonstrated leadership in service to the discipline. The candidate must have a minimum of fifteen years of significant professional experience after having earned the terminal degree. These will normally include no fewer than ten years of full-time-university-level teaching with a minimum of six years at the Associate Professor rank or higher. Alternatively, for those with fewer than six years of teaching experience, the requirement is fifteen years of significant professional experience with research credentials, substantially more than those normally expected of a full Professor.
