The Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of  Arkansas  invites  applications  and  nominations  for  the James  M.  and  Marie  G.  Hefley  Professorship  in  Logistics and  Entrepreneurship.  The  position  is  a  tenured  faculty appointment at the rank of Professor with the anticipated start date of August 2019.
Candidates holding a Ph.D. in all areas of industrial engineering, operations  research  or  related  discipline,  whose  current rank is Professor or whose credentials warrant appointment at  the  full  professor  level,  with  exceptional  track  records in scholarship and external funding, as well as outstanding teaching  at  the  undergraduate  and  graduate  levels,  are encouraged   to   apply.   Candidates   should   be   recognized nationally and/or internationally in their academic disciplines with extraordinary accomplishments in engineering logistics and  entrepreneurship.  The  successful  candidate  will  be  a nationally prominent scholar as evidenced through publication and service, and who will lead funded research endeavors that ideally complement and/or extend the current strengths of  the  department.  The  essential  roles  of  the  candidate are  to  support  the  core strengths of  the  College  and  the department in the areas of Engineering Logistics, Healthcare Systems   Engineering,   and   Transportation,   and   provide academic  leadership  to  facilitate  and  develop  engineering entrepreneurship related to these focuses.
The  College  of  Engineering  consists  of  eight  departments that offer B.S. degrees in nine disciplines, M.S. degrees in ten disciplines, and a Ph.D. degree in Engineering with several concentrations. The undergraduate enrollment in the college currently stands at over 3,490 and the graduate enrollment stands at almost 940. The college has 119 tenured/tenure- track  full-time  faculty  and  has  externally  funded  annual research expenditures of approximately $22M.
Northwest Arkansas has a population of over 500,000 and is one of the fastest growing areas in the nation. Northwest Arkansas is home to the corporate headquarters of Fortune
