[Logprofs] Search for Director of newly formed Luxembourg Centre for Logistics within the University of Luxembourg

We are pleased to announce the opening of the fifth center within MIT’s Global Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence (SCALE) Network in Luxembourg.  The newly created Luxembourg Centre for Logistics (LCL), will be joining our existing centers within the SCALE Network:  MIT-CTL (Cambridge, MA USA), the Zaragoza Logistics Center or ZLC (Zaragoza, Spain), the Center for Latin-America Logistics Innovation or CLI (Bogota, Colombia), and the Malaysia Institute for Supply Chain Innovation or MISI (Shah Alam, Malaysia).  Together, this network of centers educates hundreds of Masters students, Doctoral candidates, and Executives each year.

We are searching for a Director to lead the launch and growth of this new centre to be located within the University of Luxembourg’s Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance.  The candidate is expected to take the leading role in establishing the newly formed centre and growing it to become a world leader in education and research in Supply Chain Management, freight transportation, global trade, and logistics.  The Director will design, set direction, and ensure proper management of all aspects of the LCL activities in education, research, and corporate outreach.

The candidate should have a PhD in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Economics, Engineering, or a related field as well as experience in executive positions within a University administration, with the strong ability to develop, implement and manage research and development.  Linguistic skills needed to evolve in a multilingual environment. Fluency in English is required, good knowledge of either French or German is a plus.
