There are two Business Data Analytics positions at the College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University.  Faculty will be available for interviews at AMCIS, ICIS, INFORMS, CSCMP and DSI.  Please see below for the applicant process.

Job Description:  Assistant/Associate Professor or Associate/Full Professor of Business Data Analytics



BUSINESS DATA ANALYTICS FACULTY POSITION(S) ANNOUNCEMENT.  The Management Information System (MIS) Department at the College of Business and Economics, West Virginia University is seeking qualified applicants for one Assistant or Associate Professor of Business Data Analytics and one Associate or Full Professor of Business Data Analytics beginning on or about January 1, 2016 or on or about August 15, 2016.  Each of these positions are tenure track, budgeted 9 month faculty appointments to support a graduate level, online program in Business Data Analytics.

The position will include the following responsibilities:

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:  The successful candidate(s) will have:

·       An interest and demonstrated excellence in teaching at least two classes in topics related to Data Quality, Business Data Analytics Business Intelligence, Large Scale Data Collection for Business, Data Management, Statistical Methods, Data Mining, Decision Sciences, Business Simulation, Prescriptive Analytics and Predictive Modeling, Data Visualization and Data Analytics Practicum.

·       Demonstrated ability to do cutting edge research in business data analytics.

·       Experience with and meaningful analysis of large scale data sets and large data acquisitions.

·       Established expertise in addressing the full range of intellectual topics associated with data driven business decision making, including data gathering, data sources, data quality and data statistical analysis.

·       Aptitude for establishing synergistic, interdisciplinary research relationships between representative graduate programs in statistics, engineering, geology, computer science, and others.

·       A completed PhD in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics or other topic closely related to Business Data Analytics by time of hire.

·       A willingness to actively participate in college and university committees as well as to perform outreach activities.
