Dear Colleagues It is our pleasure to invite you to participate in the RIRL 2016 (the 11th Meeting on Logistics & SCM Research), organized by EPFL Lausanne – Switzerland - September 7 ‐ 9, 2016. Call for Papers11th International Meeting on Logistics & SCM ResearchRIRL 2016EPFL ‐ Lausanne – SwitzerlandSeptember 7 ‐ 9, 2016 The AIRL (International Association of Research in Logistics and SCM) is holding the 11th of its International Meetings on Logistics Research and Supply Chain Management (RIRL) at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne EPFL) on September 8 and 9, 2016. It will be preceded by a doctoral session, on September 7, 2016, also at the EPFL. These bi‐annual meetings bring together researchers from all parts of the world who specialise in the field of logistics and the supply chain.RIRL 2016 will combine academic subjects with industrial presentations; a unique opportunity to link academic research to the commercial world and the practical concerns of companies and national or international organisations. The overall theme will be:“The Issues and Challenges of the Supply Chain in 2020”Papers should address one or more of the subjects in this non‐exclusive list:‐ Supply chain strategies ‐ Organising company networks‐ Optimising the supply chain ‐ Globalisation of markets, collaboration, outsourcing‐ Resilience and risk analysis ‐ Innovations and applications of new technologies‐ Connected objects ‐ Sustainable, equitable logistics‐ Leanness, flexibility, responsiveness, adaptability ‐ Quality and the value of the company‐ Information systems ‐ Forecasting and its integration in the value chain‐ Decision‐support tools ‐ The logistics of e‐commerce: impact and organisation‐ Traceability, monitoring/control ‐ Process modelling and digital simulation‐ Stock planning and management ‐ Performance measurement and analysis‐ Decision‐making organisations ‐ Knowledge management‐ S&OP, strategic and operational planning ‐ Production planning and management‐ Purchasing and supply strategies ‐ Distribution and transport‐ Returns logistics ‐ Urban logistics‐ Hospital logistics, health supply chain ‐ Humanitarian logistics‐ Events logistics ‐ Logistical services Proposed papers are expected to deal with theoretical, methodological, conceptual and experimental approaches as much as concrete examples of implementing industrial solutions. Proposed papers should be short (typically 8 pages, approx. 2,500 words with 1.5 line spacing) and written in French or English. They must be sent to the organising committee which will submit them to anonymous evaluation by two independent experts.After verification and adaptation, the final accepted papers will be published in the records of the meetings and made available on‐line on the AIRL website. The scientific committee will then select the best papers for publication in Supply Chain Forum: an International Journal ‐ www.supplychainforum.com . The finalised papers must incorporate the requests made by the evaluating experts. They must not exceed 12 pages, including text with 1.5 line spacing, bibliography, tables, figures and annexes.
