Full Professor: Master¹s Program in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
The J. Whitney Bunting College of Business at Georgia College & State
University invites applications for the Director of our Online Master of
Logistics and Supply Chain Management (MLSCM) program. We are seeking
candidates with a distinguished record of accomplishment in logistics and
supply chain management, with demonstrated potential to be an effective
director of a growing program. We are searching for an inspiring
teacher-scholar, leader and colleague who will enhance the MLSCM
initiatives, including growing the logistics and supply chain management
programs and majors at both the graduate and undergraduate level.
The J. Whitney Bunting College of Business mission fosters the development
of capable business professionals who are responsible citizens grounded in a
liberal arts education. The college is dedicated to continuous improvement
in business education and professional practice through faculty scholarship.
The College of Business offers superior academic programs and exceptional
opportunities for students to develop professionally. All of the school's
undergraduate and graduate programs are accredited by the Association to
Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The position will reside in
the Department of Management, which supports the undergraduate and graduate
curriculum across many majors and offers the Bachelor of Business
Administration with a major in Management.
Faculty Position Requirements
Candidates shall possess the credentials, experience, and documented
achievements appropriate for consideration of a tenured appointment at the
rank of Full Professor in the department, including a PhD or DBA in
logistics, marketing, operations management, supply chain management, or
related discipline. Expectations for the successful candidate include
strong evidence of distinguished scholarly accomplishment and teaching
excellence, and evidence of administrative leadership experience, which
might include experience as a center director, previous chair experience,
graduate program director, a position of leadership in a professional
organization, or similar activity with demonstrated skill in developing and
expanding relationships with logistics and supply chain companies and
professional organizations. A successful candidate will have strong
leadership skills, a respect for the multiple disciplines under the supply
chain umbrella, and a record of collaboration and accomplishment in an
academic setting. The Director is expected to enhance external relationships
with the business community and alumni in working collaboratively with the
Dean, as well as develop and maintain internal relationships with other
College of Business units. Further, the preferred candidate will have the
ability to teach and work with senior-level government service employees and
field-grade military officers enrolled in the program, as Georgia College &
State University has a 30-year relationship with Robins Air Force Base in
Warner Robins, GA. Additionally, successful candidates will be expected to
maintain an outstanding research program and assume a leadership role
helping to outline the future path for the growing program, including
development of our planned logistics/supply chain research center.
