Department of Supply Chain & Information Systems (SC&IS)

Smeal College of Business

The SC&IS Department in the Smeal College of Business at The Pennsylvania State University seeks to fill two tenure-track positions in Supply Chain Management beginning Fall 2015.



We seek candidates with an established research stream and teaching interests in our five core supply chain management courses: strategic procurement, manufacturing and services strategies, demand fulfillment, supply chain analytics, and strategic supply chain design.  Candidates must have a Ph.D. (granted or nearly complete) in a directly related primary field. The primary selection criteria are outstanding research potential, excellent teaching capabilities, and strong recommendations. Penn State faculty members are expected to pursue an active research program, perform undergraduate and graduate teaching, supervise graduate students, and engage in service activities.



The Supply Chain & Information Systems Department www.smeal.psu.edu/scis<http://www.smeal.psu.edu/scis> has strong connections with the business community through research centers, which provide both research and teaching linkages to other business disciplines in the Smeal College and to other colleges, including the College of Engineering and the College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST). Conferences:  Department representatives will attend the CSCMP meeting in San Antonio, TX September 21-23, the INFORMS meeting in San Francisco, CA  November 9-12; the DSI meeting in Tampa, FL November 22-24, and the International Conference on Information Systems in Auckland, New Zealand  Dec. 14-17.



Candidates interested in being considered for a preliminary interview should upload their materials by September 15 for CSCMP, by November 1 for INFORMS and DSI, and by December 1 for ICIS.

Applicants for Associate and Full Professor Ranks are asked to upload a letter indicating interest in a senior position, a letter of application containing a statement of research and teaching interests, and a CV.   The CV should include education, publications, scholarly activities, research funding, courses taught, evidence of teaching capability, and professional work experience.
