Dear Colleagues,

The Sam M. Walton College of Business invites applications for a non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor to teach in the undergraduate business core curriculum. The Clinical instructor is expected to teach two sections of two different courses each semester (a 4/4 teaching load).

The undergraduate business core curriculum at the University of Arkansas is nationally recognized for its integrated nature. Rather than having the academic content presented in a functional manner through departmental courses such as accounting, marketing and finance, the material is presented to the students in an integrated manner by focusing on business processes. Students learn that there are no "accounting problems" or "marketing problems," but that all problems are "business problems." "Business problems" involve accounting, marketing, finance, and other issues at the same time. The undergraduate business core curriculum starts out with an integrated business simulation experience that introduces students to business, and concludes with a capstone business simulation where students demonstrate their business skills and understanding. In between, students take courses that cover major business processes such as "markets and consumers," the "acquisition of goods and services," "acquiring and managing financial resource," and "acquiring and managing human capital." Best regards,
Matt
