The J Whitney Bunting College of Business at Georgia College & State University is seeking two logistics and/or supply chain candidates: one position in the Department of Management and the other in the Department of Marketing. Successful candidates will have demonstrated excellence in teaching graduate-level logistics courses in purchasing/sourcing, supply chain strategy, transportation and/or warehousing. Secondary areas in international, entrepreneurship, or social responsibility preferred. Other duties include academic advising, high quality scholarship (in field), and service.
In addition, the marketing department places high value on experiential learning through contacts and projects with local organizations and expects all faculty to be knowledgeable and able to engage in such endeavors.
Minimum qualifications for applicants include ABD in logistics, supply chain, management or marketing (as appropriate), or a related field, and clearance or ability to obtain clearance to teach on a US Air Force Base. The ideal candidate will understand and embrace the liberal arts concept and the role of a business school within a liberal arts university.
Georgia College has offered business education since 1891, and the MBA since 1969. The J. Whitney Bunting College of Business is accredited by AACSB International, and offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate degrees. Georgia College offers the oldest and largest masters degree program in Logistics in the State of Georgia.
Logistics graduate courses are currently offered at Georgia College's Logistics Education Center at Robins Air Force Base in the evenings. Business undergraduate courses are offered at the main campus during the daytime. As availability and department needs evolve courses may be scheduled to address other faculty interest areas. Research, teaching, and service are required aspects of the position. Professors who meet publication expectations carry a 3/3 load with options available for summer teaching.
