Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals 

Announces the 2011 Doctoral Dissertation Award Competition 



The 2011 CSCMP Doctoral Dissertation Award (DDA) is awarded to a doctoral student who demonstrates significant originality and technical competence in any supply chain function.  The DDA is open to all who will have completed their doctoral work in a field related to functions within the supply chain.  A check for $5,000 US will be presented to the award recipient at CSCMP 2011 annual global conference in Philadelphia, PA. A complimentary conference registration will be extended to the award recipient, as well as travel and hotel expenses.



We ask that you encourage qualified Ph.D. candidates in your program to apply.  To be considered eligible, candidates must follow the criteria and formatting guidelines and send a completed application form (email attachment) to the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP). The applicant provides a twenty (20) page, double-spaced extended abstract of the dissertation. Content for the twenty-page abstract must focus on the evaluation criteria and should include:

·         An introduction stating the purpose of the research and its relevance to supply chain management

·         An explanation of the research including methodology and tools supporting its purpose/relevance

·         A conclusion explaining the significant contribution of the research to supply chain management

To be eligible, the author should have completed their doctoral work in a field related to functions within the supply chain between January 1, 2010 and May 1, 2011.  The award will be presented at the CSCMP 2011 Annual Global conference in Philadelphia, PA.



Applications and supporting documentation must be received by May 1, 2011.
