OPERATIONS RESEARCH
The Department of Management Sciences at the University of Waterloo invites applications for full-time, professorial appointments in Operations Research at any level to begin January 2011 or later.  Applicants should hold a PhD, or be near completion of their doctorate, and have a strong technical background in industrial/systems engineering or a related field.  We seek individuals who have demonstrated research and teaching potential in areas such as energy, healthcare, logistics and supply chain management. Individuals in any field of operations research are encouraged to apply, but we are particularly seeking those with interests and experience in the application of probabilistic modeling in industry settings.

Management Sciences is a dynamic and growing interdisciplinary department in the Faculty of Engineering that has active research and teaching activities in Information Systems, Operations Research and Management of Technology.   The Department offers a co-op undergraduate degree in Management Engineering, as well as MMSc, MASc and PhD programs.  Examples of courses that could be taught by the successful candidate include introductory and advanced topics in operations research/industrial engineering: optimization, simulation, decision analysis, stochastic processes, work processes and facility design.

Applicants should submit a cover letter along with curriculum vitae detailing educational background, research and work experience, and copies of up to four selected publications. Letters of recommendation are not required on application but will be requested if a candidate is shortlisted.
