Operations Management

The Richard Ivey School of Business seeks candidates for a faculty position in the area of Operations Management at the rank of probationary tenure track Assistant Professor or tenured Associate Professor. In addition, a Visiting or Limited Term appointment is available. These positions begin in July 2011.

Applicants for the probationary tenure track Assistant Professor appointment are expected to hold, or be nearing the completion of a doctorate degree. Candidates with industry and/or teaching experience are preferred. A tenured Associate Professor appointment requires a completed doctorate and an established record of research and teaching. The successful candidate will show potential for, or have demonstrated, excellence in research and case teaching.

The School supports high-quality managerially relevant research targeted at top academic and practitioner journals. Candidates doing empirical research will be strongly favoured, ideally complementing one of the current research areas in operations strategy, technology, sustainability or service management. Those candidates with research interests related to one of the School’s areas of scholarly strength are also encouraged to apply (see http://www.ivey.ca/research/). Preference will be given to candidates with teaching capabilities in MBA, Executive MBA and executive programs.

The Richard Ivey School of Business is Canada’s premier business school and is recognized worldwide for the quality of its management education and research. The School’s major activities include: a highly regarded MBA program and undergraduate program; a well established doctoral program active in most major areas of management; as well as an expanding portfolio of programs for executives, including an expanding Executive MBA delivered in London, Toronto and Hong Kong. The School is internationally oriented in terms of curricula, research, faculty, and student exchanges.

This position is subject to budget approval. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority. The Richard Ivey School of Business and The University of Western Ontario are committed to employment equity and welcomes applications from all qualified women and men, including visible minorities, aboriginal people and persons with disabilities.

Submission deadline is December 15, 2010, although applications will be accepted until the position has been filled.
