Scope of IJPDLM
IJPDLM's aim is the advancement of both theory and practice, and it includes many of the premier logistics researchers around the world among its authors. The journal's scope is the full range of logistics management activities and functions including distribution, procurement and supply, transportation, inventory, warehousing, and information. IJPDLM is published ten times a year and is widely recognized as one of the leading academic journals in business logistics management.

Qualifications and requirements of candidates
The key qualities sought in an Editor include an established record of scholarship in the field of logistics and supply chain management; managerial skills to oversee the editorial cycle and meet agreed deadlines for ten issues per year; a willingness to handle the journal review process through the online submission system, ScholarOne Manuscripts; the ability to inspire an active Editorial Advisory Board; and an appreciation of IJPDLM's editorial objective: to publish high quality research which has practical relevance (for teaching, research or for business).

The new editor/s will take over full responsibility in October 2010.

Major responsibilities include
?       soliciting high quality manuscripts and assisting authors through the editorial process
?       initial screening of all new submissions and the management of a double blind peer review process
?       assessing proposals and overseeing special issues
?       developing a pool of reviewers
?       supplying copy for ten journal issues per volume, to the agreed schedule dates.
?       working with and managing the contribution of the Editorial Advisory Board
?       advising Emerald on the direction and development of IJPDLM
?       promoting IJPDLM to your network and at conferences, to encourage international authorship and usage.

Recruitment procedure
Applications will be reviewed by the publisher and current editorial team after the deadline for applications.

Your application should include a covering letter describing the following, along with a current CV:

?       your goals and plans for the content of IJPDLM. This may include an assessment of the current strengths, weaknesses, gaps or opportunities that you plan to address;
?       previous editorial experience;
?       attendance at conferences during the last two years, along with conference plans for 2010; and
?       support, if any, offered by your institution.
