Three post-doctoral positions in Supply Chain Management
The logistics research centre Northern LEAD (see www.chalmers.se/lead) announces three post-doc positions. Northern LEAD is a research centre formed by Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Gothenburg in co-operation with the Logistics and Transport Society LTS and its member organisations. Northern LEAD is part of a Gothenburg research initiative which in June 2009 was recommended to obtain strategic faculty funding from the Swedish government for further developing leading research in "Transport efficiency and customer-adapted logistics". The centre contains five research groups from different disciplines that cooperate on a common research platform enabling an intensive and innovative collaboration between and within academia, industry and society. The research carried out by the post-docs will be part of the research projects in the centre and it should be based on one or several of the following core disciplines:

*         Business relationships and networks

*         Manufacturing planning and control

*         Purchasing and supply networks

*         Distribution structures and strategies

*         Materials handling

*         Transport and logistics services

*         Intermodal transportation

*         Mathematical optimisation in logistics and transport

Job description
The three post-doc positions are available from January 2010 and more positions will be available during the following years. Each position is for two years. The post-docs are expected to work both independently and as members of large project teams. They are supposed to interact with industry and society, have ability to plan and organize the work, and be able to communicate the scientific results, both to public and industry and through scientific publications. In addition the post-docs will be given the opportunity get teaching experience by participating in some of the many courses offered at bachelor, master and PhD student levels.
Each post-doc will be employed by one of the following departments, depending on which type of focus the research will have:

*    Department of Technology Management and Economics, Chalmers University of Technology
*    Department of Mathematical Science Chalmers University of Technology and University of Gothenburg
*    Department of Business Administration, School of Business, Economics and Law at University of   Gothenburg

Qualifications
We welcome applicants with various educational backgrounds such as natural science, mathematics, engineering, business administration, and social science.
The applicant should have a PhD in an area relevant for one or several of the core disciplines listed above.
