Tenure-Track Position: Supply Chain Management

Smeal College of Business

The Smeal College of Business at The Pennsylvania State University (University Park, PA) invites applications for tenure-track positions in Supply Chain Management, available in August 2010. The primary selection criteria are outstanding research potential, excellent teaching capabilities, and strong recommendations. Applicants should have a doctorate (granted or nearly completed), a thorough knowledge of supply chain theories, principles, and practices, and a commitment to applied research. Applicants with an interdisciplinary approach to research and teaching interests in strategic procurement or managing information technology in supply chains are encouraged to apply. Teaching strengths should be directed toward all levels, which include B.S., M.B.A., M.S., and Ph.D. degree programs. Faculty rank is open depending on qualifications.

Department representatives will attend the CSCMP meeting in Chicago, IL, September 20-23; the INFORMS meeting in San Diego, CA,  October 11-14, 2009; and the Decision Sciences meeting in New Orleans, November 14-17, 2009. We plan to conduct preliminary interviews with a limited number of candidates. Applicants who wish to be considered for preliminary interviews should try to email a copy of their resumes, a brief summary of research, and the title, date, and time of any presentations before September 15. Applicants sending in a complete application before this date only need to email the presentation information. Applicants who are not involved with the preliminary interviews will still be considered for the position opening.
