· Improving competitiveness of manufacturing companies as well as service companies by successful lead time reduction: What are the enablers of quick response and what is the value for the whole supply chain?
· Rapid Modelling based on queuing theory, other mathematical modelling techniques, or simulation models to facilitate the transfer of knowledge from theory to application.
· Reconciling of approaches such as Quick Response Manufacturing, lean production, agile manufacturing etc. to pave the way toward a unified theory of lead time reduction
· Behavioural aspects of the change in mindset such as motivation, leadership, or decision making
· Economic or strategic analysis of the impact of lead time reduction at the firm, supply chain, or regional level
