successful candidate will have a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in business with strong
preparation for teaching logistics operations courses. A doctorate in
business acquired no later than the effective date of appointment is
preferred, with successful teaching experience at the university level.
However, candidates with a master's degree in business, combined with
significant logistics experience, will also be considered.
Candidates who have logistics operations experience and industrial and

outreach activities are most desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a

scholarship, and outreach. Experience with alternative delivery methods
for teaching is preferred.
This position will support the Arkansas Delta Education and Training

in West Memphis, AR. The ADTEC program is funded by the Arkansas
General Assembly, on two year cycle. This position is non-tenure track,
and renewal is contingent on continued funding.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses
in supply chain management, transportation and logistics, with an
emphasis on logistics operations. Additionally, he/she will be expected
to engage in scholarly research, interface with the transportation
industry and major public funding agencies, and participate in
curriculum and program development. Participation in professional
activities such as student advising and business outreach is expected.
Arkansas State University and Mid-South Community College are involved
in a planning process for a National Science Center of Excellence in
Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics. This partnership will
include the U.S. Department of Labor and other community colleges and
universities across the nation. A successful candidate for this
position will serve as Principal Investigator for this Center.
