Hello everybody -
We are growing our research team due to the launch and growth of our
Global Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence (SCALE) Network. The
Network now includes centers in Zaragoza Spain, Cambridge MA, and
Bogota, Colombia - with an Asian center expected within 18 months.
The candidate will join the MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics
(CTL) where he/she will be responsible for creating, supporting, and
disseminating new knowledge in logistics, supply chain management,
and related fields. The candidate is expected to generate, submit,
and have accepted research-oriented papers in scholarly journals,
academic proceedings, trade journals, and CTL working papers. We are
especially interested in researchers concentrating in one of the
following areas:
* Supply Chain Management in Emerging Economies,
* Logistics Infrastructure,
* Sustainable Supply Chains,
* Freight Transportation, and
* Global Sourcing, Procurement, and Logistics.
The person will be expected to conduct research as part of a team to
include advising students, leading other researchers, and securing
funding for projects. The candidate is also expected to participate
fully in all corporate outreach and educational programs offered and
supported by CTL, to include teaching both executive and,
occasionally, graduate level courses. The position requires a PhD in
logistics, supply chain management, operations management or a
related field. Teaching experience and academic program management
experience are strong pluses. The position requires three or more
years of experience in consulting, research or industry. Excellent
communications and presentation skills are required. Ability to
speak Spanish is also a plus.
Please contact me directly if interested - include a CV or resume.
Best,
Chris Caplice
