Please, find below the public domain link to a comprehensive PhD dissertation on methodological, theoretical and empirical choices applied in 54 PhD theses in logistics and SCM published in Finland and Sweden in 1994-2003.
 
Among others, the thesis also contains the PhD's evaluations of their carreer expectations and paths as well as a detailed study of the references used in the theses.
 
This unique piece of research is especially useful for PhD students in logistics, SCM and closely related fields of research, as well as their supervisors.

This thesis by Mr. Dimitrios Vafidis was defended succesfully on March 23, 2007 at the Turku School of Economics, Finland.  The author can also be reached directly at dimitrios.vafidis at kone.com 
 
The opponent was Professor Jan Stentoft Arlbjørn from the University of Southern Denmark. Professor Olav Solem from NTNU in Trondheim, Norway, acted as the other pre-examiner of the thesis along with Prof. Arlbjørn.
