[Linerva-announce] Linerva outage early this morning

Hi Linerva users,

For reasons we are still trying to determine, Linerva froze at about
05:02 EDT this morning and had to be rebooted. It is now back up and
accepting logins.

We do not have any logs of the incident, but suspect it may owe to a
poor interaction between AFS and some network problems reported by
IS&T. We have enabled a serial console that will help us to more
readily diagnose issues of this nature, as well as AFS freezes of the
sort that have intermittently been occurring lately, more readily.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for using Linerva.
