Hi fellow dancers,

Last week, we asked you about Thursday social timing, whether 5-7pm or
6-8pm works best for you -- thank you for responding with your thoughts and
opinions on the matter!

We've decided to go for 5-7pm as usual this week, and try out 5-8pm class &
socials in the coming weeks.

When: Thursday 5-7pm; 5pm class w/ Anna & Victoria, 6pm social
Where: 36-153

This week, Anna and Victoria will be continuing with our swing dance
primer, focusing on Lindy circles and the Charleston! We'll also be
reviewing a bit of the Shim Sham and providing examples of how to add some
Shim Sham to your dance.

A fun blast from the past, here's Frankie Manning (our Shim Sham guide from
last time) dancing with another famous Lindy Hopper, Norma Miller:

You can spot the lindy circle at around 0:20 when they're going around and
around, and some fancy boogies at around 1:17; we've got a hand-to-hand
pass at 2:25, which we've covered earlier this month and are happy to
review!
As for Charleston, check this video out, it's a cool example of how Lindy
Hoppers used to dance the Charleston:

socially, we integrate it into partner dancing as well:

See you on the dance floor!

Cheers,
LHS Officers (Victoria, Anna, Daniel, and Sara)
