Hi all,

Good news, we're back up and running. However, we do have a two new things
to introduce:

First, a safe space policy. A summary is found here (adapted from BSC's
policy):

MIT Lindy Hop Society strives to provide an *actively* all-inclusive,
supportive environment for everyone, regardless of sexual orientation,
gender identity, gender expression, religion, nationality, political
orientation, age, and/or cultural identity/race. Everyone is welcome and is
to be treated as an equal, regardless of age, ability, physical appearance,
lifestyle, dance experience or dance role.
*Any dancer who feels that their safety or comfort is being threatened, or
has witnessed intimidating or inappropriate behavior is encouraged to
contact MIT Lindy Hop Society officers (*lindy-society-officers at mit.edu*)
or MIT Violent Protection & Response (VPR) Hotline (617-253-2300). The VPR
Hotline is not just for students, anyone can call if needed.*

Second, a sign-in policy as requested from the MIT Student Activities
Office.
:
All attendees of student group events in CAC spaces will be required to
sign at the event, providing their name, email address, and affiliation (if
any) with MIT. No MIT affiliation is required to attend.
The sign-in sheets will be at the entrance of the dance.

If you have questions about either of the policies, feel free to direct
them to lindy-society-officers at mit.edu

Now for the info you've been waiting for:

Our dances through the summer will follow a different time schedule: Lesson
7-8pm, Dancing 8-10pm. The MIT Campus Activities Complex which manages our
dance spaces is decreasing its staff hours over the summer.

La Sala de Puerto Rico comes with a grand piano in the room. You are
welcome to play a song for us to dance to if you'd like! Just let the DJ
know.

Would anyone like to teach a future lesson? Share your love of dance!

If anyone is available to help me set up the dance, meet at W20-437 (our
storage room) at 6:15 pm.

Locations for the next few weeks:
7/3 Sala
7/10 Walker
7/17 Walker
7/24 Walker
7/31 Walker
8/1 Walker

As always, in order to keep the club alive and thriving, we welcome all
student support. Therefore, students: please join our expanding
organizational team if you like our lessons and dances and want them to
continue! Easiest way is to just write back and say you're interested.
There will be plenty of tasks and positions for people who can only help
out rarely, all help is appreciated it. Please consider joining us even if
your time constraints might limit your involvement.
