At 7:30 before the dance, Jan Marie and Stephen and will
teach the last of a 4-week blues dance series. Blues dance
is a style similar to swing dancing that is done to blues
music - the foundation of all the popular music of today!
This series will introduce you to the fundamentals of how to
rock out to this infectious music, both in terms of body
movement and how to improvise with a partner so everyone has
a great time!
At 9:00 there will be open dancing. The first part of the
dance, probably 45 minutes or so, will be mostly blues
music.
Next week, February 6, Sarah and Paul will teach a swing
lesson.
On Saturday, February 23 in the afternoon, we will be
holding solo & partnered 20's Charleston workshop taught by
Jan Marie. Stay tuned for more information.
On Saturday, March 16, MIT ESP runs "Spark", a one-day event
similar to "Splash" in the fall. If any MIT students would
like to teach a swing class to high school and middle school
students and would like to borrow our sound system, let me
know. Register your class with ESP by February 8. The
class application form is here:
