At 7:30 before the dance, Ken will teach the first class of 
a four-week Lindy Hop lesson series.  This week, we will 
start with 6-count East Coast swing as a training dance to 
learn the feeling of momentum and of lead and follow for 
future lessons in 8-count Lindy Hop.  We will also examine 
the history and philosophy of swing dance, starting with the 
singular fundamental concept of "joy".

lesson series on Fridays at 1pm through MIT Recreation:  
LINDY HOP SWING DANCE: "Born from the Charleston dances of 
the roaring 20's, the Lindy Hop is a dynamic 
connection-based partner dance involving athletic movement 
and fantastic swung Jazz music. This class will start from 
the basic rhythms, steps, and partner lead-follow dynamics 
and will build to more sophisticated patterns of both 
partner and solo movement. This dance is energetic, bouncy, 
challenging, and very rewarding.  No partner, dance 
experience, or rhythm is required!! Two left feet also
