At 7:30 p.m. before the dance Jenn and Gui will teach a
lesson:

*How To Make A Swingout Feel Really, Really Good*

Jenn Martinez and Gui Cavalcanti will be teaching a
beginner Lindy Hop lesson that focuses exclusively on how
to make the swingout feel really, really good. Gui will
be bringing helpful props and all of his training in
force-controlled robotics to bear in a lesson that
scientists and engineers will be sure to appreciate (but
that won't go over the heads of everyone else, he
promises!) By the end of the lesson, Gui and Jenn promise
that everyone (regardless of initial skill level) will
walk away with a rock-solid understanding and feel for
the Lindy Hop basic step, which they can take forward to
the upcoming intermediate class series with Nina and Dan.

All skill levels are invited to attend! If you don't feel
absolutely confident with your swingout, this class is
   for you.

The MIT Lindy Hop Society has many exciting events coming up:

*NEXT WEEK*, December 5, the dance will be held at Harvard,
Holden Chapel. Nina and Dan will teach a lesson before the
dance.

In two weeks, December 12 and 19 (and maybe beyond), Nina
and Dan will teach an intermediate-level Lindy Hop class.
If you already know the Lindy Hop swing-out and want to
learn more, they will teach you more! (Please do not attend
this class if you do not already know the Lindy Hop basic
swing out.)

During MIT's Independent Activities Period, (January 9, 16,
23, 30), Andrea and Lauren will teach RAVISHING RED HOT
LINDY: "Being a beginner dancer doesn't have to keep you in
your dorm room. We'll put an end to those cold, lonely
winter nights, in January. Andrea and Lauren will be your 4
weeks of redheaded fun, on the dancefloor. This class will
introduce you to Lindy Hop and Charleston. Both of these
energetic partnered dances were created in the 1940s to Big
Band and Jazz music."

Weeks 1 & 2 will teach Lindy Hop basics.
Week 3 will teach Charleston basics.
Week 4 will meld Lindy and Charleston and give you some extra snazzy moves.
**Each class will build on the previous week.
**Starting from Week 1 is recommended, but not required.
