And a message from this week's swing teacher, Andrew K.
Stein:
This Wednesday's swing lesson will continue from last
week's, where we had a great beginner lesson and a chunk
of fun learning 30+ different moves. We'll be marching
(dancing?) forward with new moves aplenty -- AND oodles of
helpful tricks to *actually remember them.*
(And a funny anecdote: Last week we had some fun
switching up the leads and the follows to help each
understand what the others were experiencing, and it went
way better than we expected. One person wrote me
afterward, "Thanks for making the leads try following.
They were much gentler afterwards.")
So come one, come all to this week's lesson, and bring all
your friends -- absolutely no previous dancing experience
necessary. If you've been thinking about doing swing for
some time but haven't made it out yet, this week is all
kinds of awesome to jump in. See you on the floor...
Please stay tuned for the locations of the dances the next
few weeks. They may not be in our normal locations.
HELP WANTED: The MIT Student Activities Midway is Friday,
August 31, from 3:00-6:30 p.m. We need one or more people
for our club's booth to promote the Lindy Hop Society to the
new students.
HELP WANTED part 2: Our speaker system is ailing, and we
would like to get it repaired. Can anyone suggest a
reputable dealer or repair shop for this kind of audio
equipment?
Thanks,
--ken
