Due to MIT's Commencement and Reunion activities (and
therefore the inability to reserve a room), there will be no
swing dance at MIT on Wednesday this week (June 6).

Next week, on June 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Lobdell, Andrew K.
Stein (Andrew.K.Stein at gmail.com) will begin a 3-week series
of beginner lessons. Andrew teaches a style called New
Swing, a reaction to the overly-complex nature of most dance
education. New Swing takes advantage of swing's
improvisational nature to advance a more holistic approach,
emphasizing the common grammar than makes up 90% of all
swing moves. In other words, New Swing teaches you how to
start faking it after just a lesson or two.

If you (or someone you know) is the kind of person who likes
trying new things even when they mess up, New Swing may be
the ideal way to get up and dancing swing quickly. Which is
to say that it's great for guys (and female leads) that want
to learn to dance but haven't had much success in the past.
Absolutely no previous dance experience necessary.

We will resume our Wednesday dances next week (June 13).
