[Lindengardens] Laundry Machines Update

I have just spoken to Adam Williams at Paradigm this morning. These are the key points:

(1) Anyone who has lost money in the machines can get a refund. Adam says one must call the service number given on the signs in the laundry room, and they will take down the information: 800-747-SUDS.

(2) Adam is putting in a call to the company to get the washing machines coin operators repaired. He thinks they will be here today or tomorrow.

(3) It seems like it will be the end of this month before we get the new card readers. The company has ordered them, but delivery is not expected until then. I guess that patience is the only option. (Is this a sign of the poor state of American manufacturing? I have no idea, but it does cause frustration, I know.)

(4) The last issue is whether or not to have the machines moved around so that all of them are on the same wall. The only wall that could work is the one where the washing machines are now positioned. But to move the dryers adjacent to them might be quite costly, since a new gas line would have to be run overhead from one side of the room to the other. We are waiting for an estimate for this. When we get the estimate, the trustees will need to confer and probably we will poll the owners to see how they feel. The change would probably make the room nicer to use—but is it worth the money?

Thanks to all for understanding.
