Hello Dave, 

Perhaps you should add that the high levels of CO were just around the system and in the boiler room. None of our CO alarms in our units went off. I don't want people to think anyone was in any danger. The warning system worked and you guys responded to it brilliantly.

Although it's a good reminder that if you don't have a CO detector, you should get one, just in case of issues like this. 

Thank heavens the heater will be fixed soon!

Be glad if you missed the fire department. I came home around 12:30 last night and the whole building smelled very strongly of gas and the carbon monoxide alarm was sounding. I called Alewife, and the fire department. They came and measured dangerously high levels of CO (75 ppm), and shut down the system. Then they called the gas company, and they came. Then Dan came out again and was here til around 4 trying to get it working, to no avail.

Alewife says they should have it fixed sometime today. In the meantime, I guess we can drink tea and and hope it goes quickly.

Update:  Apparently, the heat was turned off again last night because of the gas smell, and the fire department getting called (did I miss that?).  Alewife is planning to get new parts TODAY to get us up and running.  Also, apparently they have gotten a number of calls from us, and want us to know that they are working on it.
