LOVELY WEATHER: ART & CLIMATE CHANGE PROJECTS 2010
Leonardo/Olats and Donegal County Council present the five projects
for Lovely Weather: Art & Climate Change, a ground-breaking art &
science project that examines the issue of climate change in Donegal,
Ireland. The selected artists are: Peter d’Agostino (USA), Seema Goel
(Canada), The League of Imaginary Scientists (USA), Antony Lyons
(UK), and Softday (Ireland). The selected artists have taken an
interdisciplinary approach to their work and have actively involved
citizens from their respective areas in their projects to consider
questions about climate and its changes on a practical level. The
final projects will be featured in an exhibition at the Regional
Cultural Centre (Ireland) in November 2010, and will be accompanied
by an international conference and publication. Find out more

LMJ 21 CALL FOR PAPERS
BEYOND NOTATION: COMMUNICATING MUSIC
Peer-to-peer file exchange, the iTunes store, MySpace, Pandora – by
2010 it's obvious that the Internet has radically transformed the
economy and culture of selling, distributing, owning and hearing
recorded music. Less discussed is the Web's impact on that part of
music that used to be called "the score" – instructions, suggestions
and materials for performing, rather than consuming, music. For
Volume 21 of Leonardo Music Journal we solicit papers that address
the impact of technological change on how we distribute instructions
and materials for musical performance. Deadline for abstracts
extended to November 15, 2010. Find out more
