As part of Think Swiss – Brainstorm the future – swissnex kindly invites you to visit an exhibit presenting a series of 15 prints by the artist and scientist Ariel Ruiz i Altaba.
Minimal Landscapes represents an exploration of form in its essence, devoid of distracting elements. The photographic images show black islands forming archipelagoes of explicit and implicit meanings that become imaginary landscapes in the viewer's mind. Each image is the approximation of actual living form to classical minimal perfection.
The exhibit opens on September 19th, kicked off by a round-table discussion on the relationship between art and science: "Boundaries and Meaning in Landscapes: From Science to Art and Back," conducted by Dr. Leonard Shlain and with the participation of Stephen Wirtz.
Ariel Ruiz i Altaba has exhibited his art work internationally in private and museum collections in the USA and in Europe. He is also Jeantet Professor at the School of Medicine of the University of Geneva.
