        Check out these amazing figures & facts...  Taking into consideration the tiny dimensions of Lebanon (smaller than the state of Connecticut):

   1)   At least 19 religious sects of which 17 recognized. 

   2)   19 Political Parties.
   
     3)   40 Daily newspapers, [?] Radio and TV Broadcast Stations, [ ] Internet
           subscribers.
  
   4)   Over 100 Banks.

   5)   4 Universities, [?] Schools.   
  
   6)   70% of the students are in private schools.

           people)

   8)   "Lebanon" and "Cedar" appear over 70 times in the Old Testament.

   9)   Beirut was destroyed and rebuilt 7 times. (This is why it's compared to
           the Phoenix)

   10) There are 3,826,018 (July 2005 estimation) Lebanese in Lebanon.

   11) There are 5,630,000 Lebanese outside Lebanon.  
   
     12) There are approximately 15 million people of Lebanese descent,
           mainly Christians, spread all over the world.

   13) The country was occupied, in order, by:  [875 B.C.] Assyrians;

           country name in the world)

   17) There are 15 rivers in Lebanon; all of them flowing from its mountains.

   18) The first Alphabet was created by Cadmus in Byblos.

   19) Lebanon is the country with the most published books per capita.

   20) Jesus Christ made his first miracle in Lebanon.

   21) The Phoenicians created the first boat ever.

   22) Phoenicians reached the Americas long before Columbus.

   23) The 1st law school in the world was built in Lebanon, and was leveled
           off by earthquakes in the 6th century.

   24) 160,000 people died in the civil war (1975-1990).
