Another difference is that in the GSS proposal we do not [yet] have a
function that can tell the application what elements are needed in a
cred store to acquire a credential.  But I've made abundantly clear my
intention to add this later.

Another difference is that the response sets interface doesn't allow
the application to specify the responses up front.
