In fact, it does -- each platform has it's own traditional approach to
store user-specific application settings. For Windows, it is registry
(HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\...), and for unix it's files in
$HOME/.krb5/ or, in modern xdg way, $HOME/.config/krb5/ (or whatever
value of $XDG_CONFIG_HOME is).
