message size incompatible with type error for krb5-1.9 lib using Windows 2003 KDC

I set DES-only for compatibility with older servers (linked with krb5-1.1) and used ktpass to export the keys for DNS Servers, then ktutil to import into Unix keytab.  Same for the unix client.  The Windows client still fails, but that is using the SSPI library, not MIT kerberos.
