For some of them, we run the programs and check that the output file  
content is correct.  If we've created the output file from a previous  
"make check" invocation and haven't updated the program, do we need to  
re-run them?  After some discussion over Jabber, I agree that yes, we  
should do it anyways, and not assume they're deterministic.

I'll revert this change.
