Would it be possible to build the plugins seperate from the rest?
Why this is needed is explained very easy.

To build krb5 with the kdb-ldap plugin you need openldap at buildtime. 
To build openldap you need krb5 at buildtime.

A hen/egg problem. 

I think other plugins might cause similar problems in future.
