If you check in the RFC you will see that the CyberSafe SecurID pre-auth
type is described.

Yes, I agree. This is why we need registration.

Your pre-auth mech doesn't have an RFC.  How would I know that you chose
32?
That is why we have registries.  If you don't get a number officially
allocated, you may not use it.
