Thank you for the clarification.

Are there any plans to port the Leash API (and KFW in general) to 64 bit?

The Leash32 executable has been replaced by NetIDMgr.
The Leash API contacts NetIDMgr instead of Leash32 to perform its
operations.

Constructing a new API exported by new DLLs that do the same thing
as the existing API will only cause applications developed against
the Leash API to break. Unless of course the Leash API was kept as
well.

The Kerberos team is working on a new cross platform Login Library
implementation. When that is available on Windows, then the Leash API
can be deprecated and after several years removed. Notice that the
KClient API is still shipped with KFW even though it hasn't been
recommended in ages. This is done in order to allow applications
developed against that API to still work when new versions of KFW
are installed on the same system.
