kerberos 5 on windows and unix interportability

I want to implement single sign on functionality on windows and unix
environment, I have come across three types of KDC (mit , hiemdel , windows
DC ) . 

I have come to know  windows  (2000 , 2003 server )  itself has  inbuilt
Kerberos 5 protocol  do I need to install any other components to implement
the SSO  functionality on windows server and windows clients.
